This report evaluates the potential of one regional area on the fringes of Melbourne to accommodate dwelling growth under a range of scenarios. The case study area examined includes the municipalities of Moorabool, Macedon Ranges, Ballarat, Hepburn, Mount Alexander, Central Goldfields and Greater Bendigo, with a total population of 308,556 people (ABS 2013).

The report estimates current and potential land supply and their capacity to meet dwelling demand for both rural and urban areas to 2041.
